Turkey Hunting Overview All of our Spring Turkey Hunts are 3 day hunts, and all are shotgun hunts. This hunt is fast becoming one of Iowa’s most exciting. Our Eastern Turkeys range from 20 to 25 pounds and 25 to 30 pound birds are routinely seen in the area. Shotgun 3-Day Hunt   $500.00 Price does not include game processing, licenses, or tips. Each hunter will be responsible for transportation to and from his hunting area. We hunt in Central Iowa and South Central Iowa for Spring Turkey. Non-residents may not hunt the Fall season. Picking a Season & Zone and Applying for a Tag To take part in one of our hunts, you'll first need to decide upon a season & zone and apply for a tag. If you require assistance with this, please contact Iowa River Outfitters at 1-641-475-3442, and we'll walk you through the process. Plan ahead; the state of Iowa has a limited number of licenses they will grant to each season and zone, and our hunts fill up fast. If you don't wish to call us, you can apply for a tag yourself using the following resources: Current Turkey Hunting Season Dates Iowa Resident Application Information Non-resident Application Information Purchasing an Iowa Turkey Hunting License Once you've been approved and drawn a tag, you'll need to purchase an Iowa Hunting License. • Residents may purchase turkey hunting licenses via one of the following options: Iowa Resident License Vendors Iowa DNR Resident Online Ordering System Iowa DNR Telephone Ordering System • Non-residents can only apply online or by using the telephone ordering system: Iowa DNR Non-resident Online Ordering System Iowa DNR Telephone Ordering System Note! Internet sales of turkey licenses will be suspended 10 days prior to the opening of the respective season (not including bow season). Once Your Tag Has Been Drawn and You've Purchased A License Upon drawing your tag, a $250.00 deposit is due. Upon your arrival, the additional $250.00 of your hunt is due. Please contact us to make payment arrangements. At this time, we'll reserve you a spot and start making all the final arrangements for your hunt!
